11TH GRADE
CTE Pathway Concentrator Course Highlights:
- College Prep Course preparing for careers or post -secondary education in the building and construction trades industry sector
- Builds on the knowledge and skills from the 10th grade course: Introduction to Construction Technology that launched Jan. 4th, 2021
- Hands-on, project based learning, teamwork, time management and project management and fused with industry based standards
- Prerequisites: Introduction to Construction Technology and Math I
11th Grade Course Content includes the study of the following:
- Opportunity for concurrent enrollment in SRJC, Construction and Engineering Program
- The Construction Industry
- Zoning and Building Codes
- Schematics and Drawings
- Materials and Estimation
- Roof and Ceiling Framing
- Green Technology and Introduction to Sustainable Building Concepts
- Preparing for a Career in the Building and Construction Industry Sector
To be followed by 12th grade CTE Pathway Capstone Class: Sustainable Future(course will be written and presented to site council and WUSD School Board in 2021) its focus will be: Project Based Learning, 30 hour + Internship in industry
